Cape Town Activities

The tour starts with a visit to the District 6 Museum, followed by a drive through the District 6 area. From there we will visit Langa Cape Town's oldest standing township where you will have the option of going to see a Sangoma (The traditional healer of the township).We will then tour Bonteheuwel a colored township explaining how the colored people were forcibly removed and dumped on the Cape Flats.We will then proceed to Guguletu and visit the Amy Biehl and Guguletu seven memorials.These monuments were erected to honour the students who died in the struggle against apartheid.Visit a township school (optional) and take a fourty minute walking tour into the informal settlements to view the conditions of shack living.Visit inside a shack,the spaza shop,shebeen,creche and the watering points.Lunch will be at Mzoli's place (Shisa Nyama)a barbecue hotspot in Guguletu,eat with the locals and soak in the township atmosphere.

We will drive around the Peninsula. Travel along the Atlantic seaboard with its gorgeous white beaches and rugged mountains to Hout Bay. We will visit the Cape Point Nature Reserve, the tip of the Cape Peninsula that has captivated travellers for centuries with its dramatic scenery and fascinating history.  View the penguins at boulder’s Beach. Drive past the Naval Base in Simons Town or see the statue of Just Nuisance, the legendary Great Dane that lived with the sailors. One thing you won't miss is the wonderful photo opportunities of Cape Point Nature reserve. We will pass through the naval village of Simon’s Town, Fish Hoek, Kalk Bay and Muizenberg.

We will drive through George and over the Outeniqua Mountains past Oudtshoorn to the Cango Caves, one of the world’s great natural wonders sculptured by nature through the ages – a series of dripstone caverns that open into vast halls of towering stalagmite formations. This is followed by a fascinating visit to an ostrich farm, where you can stand on an egg and even ride an ostrich. After lunch (guest’s own account) in Oudtshoorn, its on to Cango Wildlife Ranch, a breeding facility for endangered species. You will be able to touch a cheetah and enjoy the closeness of a tiger cub or wrap yourself in a python.
